Ways to pay

Speech pathology can be funded in several ways. Here is what each one means in plain language.

Private payment

You pay the full fee yourself. You do not need a referral to see a speech pathologist privately. Payment is due at the time of your session.

NDIS

If you have an NDIS plan, speech pathology may be funded under Capacity Building. We can usually work with self-managed and plan-managed participants. Talk to us about how your plan is managed before you book.

Medicare

Your GP may be able to refer you under a chronic disease management plan, which can provide a Medicare rebate for a limited number of allied health sessions each calendar year. You pay the fee, then claim the rebate. Your GP decides whether you are eligible.

Private health insurance

Many extras policies include speech pathology. The rebate depends on your fund, your level of cover and your annual limits. Check with your fund, and we will give you a receipt to claim.

Funding rules are set by the NDIS, Medicare and private health funds, and can change. This page is general information, not advice about your own eligibility.

Cancellations

If you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment, please give us at least 24 business hours' notice, and no later than 10am on the business day before your appointment. For example, a Monday appointment needs to be cancelled by 10am on the Friday before. For NDIS-funded appointments, at least 48 business hours' notice before the appointment time is required. A cancellation fee may apply to appointments cancelled or missed with less notice.
