Telehealth
Telehealth
Speech therapy by secure video, at home or anywhere in Australia.
What telehealth is
Telehealth is speech therapy delivered by secure video call. You meet your speech pathologist online, using a computer, tablet or phone.
Sessions work much like clinic visits. We assess, coach and practise together, and we share strategies you can use between sessions. For children, a parent or carer usually joins the call.
Telehealth can suit families who live outside Padstow, have busy schedules, or find travel difficult. Research shows telehealth works well for many speech and language goals, and it is widely used across Australia.
Some needs are better supported in person. If that is the case for you, we will say so and talk through your options.
What you need
A reliable internet connection
Enough for a clear video call, at home, school or work.
A device with a camera
A computer, tablet or phone with a camera and microphone.
A quiet space
Somewhere comfortable and free from interruptions.
Privacy and security
We use a secure video platform, and your information stays confidential.
How telehealth sessions work
Before your session
We send you a link and help you get set up. No special software is needed.
During your session
We assess, coach and practise together, just as we would in the clinic.
Between sessions
You receive practical strategies to use in everyday life.
You can combine telehealth with clinic visits. Many families mix the two, depending on what suits each goal. Fees and funding are the same for telehealth and clinic sessions.
Not sure whether telehealth would suit you or your child? Contact us and we will talk it through, or read our frequently asked questions.
